There is a reset procedure that worked on both our ST’s Puma and Focus. Ford techs seen clueless about this or any other fix for the issue. Turn on headlights, not auto position. Wait while watching the red battery symbol, after about 20 seconds it will flash notifying you the reset is complete. Turn off the ignition.
My Ford dealer, who have done excellent work on my early 2016 RS over the years, replaced my original battery with an OEM replacement during some other service work on 1/23/2019 at 55k miles. From what I've seen they did not reset the BMS, probably not knowing it even had BMS, which I wasn't aware of either.
2) Soft Reset the System. Your Ford SYNC has a built-in reset that can be used to restore any functionality that has been lost because of software bugs. This is called a soft reset. Performing a soft reset will not cause you to lose any settings or data that has been saved on the system already.
Anyone else who has been to their dealer should do the same, by the way. The number is 020 356 44444. I don't trust myself to fit a better, uprated battery, but I am adamant that Ford should inspect this for all people having issues. Will report back as I hear more from Ford.

The “Service: Oil reset complete” message will no longer be displayed. Rotate the key to the OFF position. Start the vehicle. Make sure that the oil life telltale is not illuminated in the IPC, and the oil change reminder message is no longer displayed in the message center.

I started to get an intermittent "Charging System Service Now" message along with the Battery Indicator. Had it checked at dealer when it first started happening at 1750 miles. No codes and of course did not act up.
To reset the apim module in your ford vehicle, start by turning off the ignition and opening the hood. Locate the fuse box and remove the fuse labeled “apim” or “sync. ” Wait for a few minutes, then reinsert the fuse. This should initiate a reset and hopefully resolve any software glitches.

In most, cases it will require that the vehicle be operated for three trips/drive cycles before FordPass reflects the reset.
